World Cup
The opening round of the Bouldering World Cup in the Chinese metropolis of Chongqing saw Anna Stöhr and Jakob Schubert seamlessly resume their series of successes from the previous season. At a spectacular final watched by several thousand spectators, Anna Stöhr launched her "World Cup title defense" project with a superb victory.

Jakob Schubert too, taking second place, made no secret of his own ambitions for a top ranking in the overall Bouldering World Cup. Momoka Oda (Mammut JAP) finished in an excellent second place behind Anna, also confirming the continuation of her previous year's form.

At just 17 years old, Oli Grounsell (Team Mammut UK) has succeeded in completing a repeat climb of the tough "The Zone" route in the Peak District near Sheffield. Secured by 2 skyhooks that can clearly take the strain:

Following a failed attempt to complete "La Novena Puerta" 8c+ in Santa Linya, Spain, last winter, this winter Hannah Midtbø managed to successfully redpoint the route.

A day of rest, Hojer style
After completing a repeat climb of the Ticino bouldering classic Dreamtime 8c in 2 quick sessions, Jan Hojer surprised the bouldering world the next day with 11 ascents of routes between 8a and 8b in Chironico. Jon had actually planned a rest day, but found he couldn’t simply watch his friends out bouldering…

First winter ascent of the Sagwand (AUT)
David Lama, Peter Ortner and Hansjörg Auer pulled off an amazing winter first ascent in the Valser Valley, overcoming crumbly rocks, poor securing and an icy cold, sleepless night in a bivouac.

The season kicks off in Alsace
Our new trail running athlete Ildikò Wermescher claimed a convincing 2nd place at the Petit Ballon d’Alsace trail running event. The tough conditions (rain, snow, mud, wind and cold) put our Alpine Performance line to the test as well.

Season end of the Freeride Wolrd Tour at Verbier
 
The End of the Freeride World Tour season took place at the legendary Bec des Rosses on the 23. of March. Jérémie Heitz couldn't defend his second place due to his injury and finished as good sixth. However, our Mammut Snowboarder Aurélien Routens finished the this years competition on the fabulous second rank.
